Dear Ladies
I am writing to ask if any of your members would be interested in helping us to knit things for our
"Wrap up a Kiddie" campaign?
All the children we knit (and sew) for are being supported by the London charity, Kids Company
(www.kidsco.org.uk) and are growing up in very precarious conditions and circumstances indeed.
We knit scarves, hats, mittens, cardigans, jumpers, blankets of all shapes sizes and colours for
them - there are children from tiny babies to teenagers being helped via Kids Company and so we can
find a home for any items in virtually any size and colour!
We would also like to collect some knitting supplies to share amongst those who can knit but are not
able to buy wool etc.
Do you think this is something your group would be interested in helping with?
There is a website here with more information about the entire project (knitting and sewing):
www.sharingcolourandcomfort.webs.com
The contact for donating knitting supplies (wool, yarn, etc) is:
Mrs Jackie Western
enquiries@partynightscreations.co.uk
or via her blog: http://party-nights-creations.blogspot.com/p/wrap-up-kiddie.html
The address to send finished items to is:
Kids Company
FAO Rebecca Peters / Shyam Scheuch
Wedge House
36-40 Blackfriars Road
London
SE1 8PB
GB
I would be delighted to answer any questions at all that you may have and would like to thank you
already for taking time to read this mail and considering whether your group could help.
With kindest wishes
Nicki Auf der Maur
PS Please do feel entirely free to forward this mail to anyone you know who could help. Thank you

Hello,
Black Dog Publishing is proud to present its latest book release; In The Loop: Knitting Now.
To coincide with your knitting group, I would be delighted to offer you and your members a 40% discount on all orders for this title and I do hope this sounds of interest to you.
In the Loop explores the progression of knitting, a craft which has come a long way from its fuzzy image of thick socks and embarrassing motifs on Christmas jumpers. Now there are knitting groups that meet in quirky venues throughout the country, as well as hundreds of clubs and contemporary artists intent on reclaiming the craft. In the Loop maps knitting’s journey from solitary hobby for old maids to mainstream, contemporary trend.
In the Loop features essays and images that show the progression of knitting and discusses the topics of knitting in art, international knitting traditions, knitting as social activism, the oral history of knitting, and knitting technology. The book include case studies on knitting clubs, artists using knitting in their work and provides an attractive and informative review of the subject. An essential book for anyone with an interest in contemporary crafts.
I have attached with this email a press release containing further information on this title. Please do let me know if you have any queries or would like further information on how you and your members can order at the discounted price – I’d be happy to help.
All the best,
Jessica
